Abstract

This study aims to analyze quality-based educational management innovations to strengthen the competitiveness of high schools in Jambi. The study employs a field research design with a qualitative approach. The research was conducted at several high schools in Jambi, with informants including school principals, vice principals, teachers, students, educational staff, school committees, and parents. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that quality-based governance innovations are realized through more structured planning, active school principal leadership, participatory decision-making, strengthening of a quality culture, data utilization, and routine program evaluations. This governance also impacts improvements in the quality of learning services, teacher engagement, student learning experiences, school committee support, and the enhancement of the school s image in the community s eyes. Although there are constraints such as limited facilities, administrative burdens, and uneven data management capacity, schools demonstrate adaptability through coordination, program adjustments, and internal capacity building. This study concludes that quality-based educational governance serves as a strategic foundation for strengthening the competitiveness of high schools in Jambi.
