Optimizing the Governance of Islamic Education to Enhance the Competitiveness of Educational Institutions

Abstract
This study aims to analyze the optimization of Islamic education governance in enhancing the competitiveness of educational institutions through a Systematic Literature Review approach. This study is motivated by the demands of globalization, which require Islamic educational institutions to transform in terms of management, leadership, and resource management. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review, involving the stages of identification, selection, data extraction, and synthesis from various relevant scientific literature sources. The research results indicate that Islamic education governance has undergone significant development in various aspects, such as strategic planning, leadership, human resource management, technology utilization, and quality management. Additionally, increased transparency, innovation, and collaboration serve as supporting factors in strengthening the competitiveness of educational institutions. The integration of Islamic values with modern management theories has proven capable of creating an effective and sustainable management system. These findings indicate that optimal governance not only improves the quality of educational services but also strengthens public trust in Islamic educational institutions. Thus, this study provides theoretical and practical contributions to the development of Islamic educational management that is adaptive, innovative, and oriented toward enhancing global competitiveness.
